1974
CTS Xpress LLC began in 1974 as Crown Transport Systems Inc. focusing on Truckload, LTL, and Brokerage.
Based in Chattanooga, we grew our business to a nationwide carrier with over 450 employees and 28 terminals serving the floor covering, food, and beverage industries.
1986
In 1986, US Xpress and Covenant Transport established a partnership with us to offer expedited transportation team services for our LTL terminals.
1991
In 1991 our Los Angeles terminal began distribution services for Matheson Fast Freight located in Sacramento.
Over the years this relationship evolved into us hauling mail for them during peak season.
As peak season grew each year, we became known to provide transportation services to multiple various USPS Mail Contractors.
1995
In 1995 we sold the LTL business and our terminal network to US Xpress and kept the Truckload and Brokerage business.
We were able to grow, not only as a motor carrier, but also as a logistics provider serving shippers with time sensitive expedited team and solo services.
2016
In 2016 the FMCSA did not allow a motor carrier to operate as a carrier and a broker under the same MC or DOT number.
At this time, we then created CTS Xpress LLC to become our Logistics Brokerage Company and leased our assets and drivers to Arman Transport.
Our relationships have allowed us to help each other by sharing resources such as load sharing, equipment, maintenance, safety, purchasing power, terminal network and repowering equipment when needed.
Today
Today, we continue to specialize in delivering logistics solutions to a diverse range of industries, including food and beverage, manufacturing, agriculture, and government.
We offer a range of logistics solutions from dry van, refrigerated, and flatbed divisions along with our team and solo services in each division.
